Founding
Benjamin Kelly starts the Benjamin F. Kelley & Company, making feed water heaters
Competition Arises
Frank Patterson, son in law of Benjamin Kelley, starts Frank L Patterson & Co. as a competitor to Benjamin F. Kelley & Co.
First Aquisition
Frank Patterson took over the Benjamin F. Kelley & Co. upon the death of Benjamin Kelley and at the request for Mrs. B. F. Kelley.
Both companies ran as competitors in New York City still selling water heaters.
Merger
The two companies merged to become the Patterson-Kelley Co., Inc. based on the implementation of federal income taxes.
New Partner
John Fischer working for the Atomic Energy Commission, partners with Patterson Kelley to develop a special heat exchanger for the Manhattan project.
First Patent
After having worked there for a few years, John Fisher starts the Process Equipment Division at Patterson Kelley and patents the first V Blender
Expanding Product Lines
Patterson Kelley continues to invent products; intensifier bards, liquid addition, solids processor, then adding in the Zig-Zag Blender and Tubular Vacuum Dryer
Second Acquisition
Harsco Corporation, a $1B world-wide organization, buys Patterson Kelley who is still producing boilers and water heaters as well as the blenders as part of the Process Equipment Division
New Products
Harsco innovates with the creation of the MVP systems as well as low throughput continuous blenders.
Division Split & Acquisition
Patterson Kelley Process equipment was divested from the Patterson Kelley heat transfer division (Harsco) and sold to Buflovak, LLC.
Harsco still holds the Patterson Kelley name for boilers and water heaters.
Hebeler Acquisition
Hebeler purchases Buflovak and with it, the Patterson Kelley Process Equipment IP, calling it Hebeler Process Solutions
CPEG Acquisition
CPEG purchases Hebeler and creates Patterson Kelley Blenders to market and sell this expansive catalog of products and process experience.

Today’s PK
In 2016 PK Blenders joined Hebeler and together became known as Hebeler Process Solutions, LLC (HPS).
In 2024, PK Blenders was acquired by Carrier Process Equipment Group, Inc. (CPEG). This partnership will offer a whole new realm of custom manufacturing capabilities along with additional process equipment for complete systems integration.
PK will continue developing internationally recognized product lines and custom process solutions.
